Message
Laura Fitzgerald joined OHA and Partners in Health in 2002. She graduated top of her class from Spectrum School of Massage. Laura also holds a B.S. Journalism.
She is passionate about holistic healing and offers quality bodywork in a healing, professional environment that helps you enhance your quality of life by alleviating pain and stress, increasing relaxation, body awareness and overall good health.
There are different types of massage. Receiving a relaxation massage allows you to let the stresses, tensions and cares of everyday life melt away. The goal of a therapeutic massage is to stimulate healing and recovery from an injury or illness.
Laura offers massage in a variety of styles: the Asian styles of Shiatsu, Tui-na and Gwa-sha, Structural Muscle Balancing, Therapeutic/medical, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology and Seated Chair Massage. Pamper yourself with our two Signature massage packages. The Rejuvenation is a deluxe 5-hour package, which includes Asian bodywork, herbal hand and foot soak, reflexology of ears, hands and feet, an organic lunch, sound wave therapy and sauna. The Joy is a 3-hour smaller version of the Rejuvenation.
Massage allows the body to fully relax, promoting restful sleep, pain relief and healing. Give the gift of a Spa massage package to yourself or someone you love. Gift certificates are available.
The Benefits of Massage:
Current research is beginning to validate what most clients already know about massage therapy: it can help ease or prevent many common ailments that are often treated with prescription drugs and/or hospitalization. Massage therapy is based on the ability of the body to naturally heal itself.
- relaxes muscle contractions, spasms and relieves general body tensions
- dilates the blood vessels, thus improving circulation
- acts as a “mechanical cleanser” pushing along lymphatic fluids and hastening the elimination of wastes and toxic debris
- enhances sense of well-being
- improves mood (reduction in depression, stress, anxiety, and anger)
- separates muscle fibers, undoing or preventing the formation of adhesions and trigger points
- increases energy and vitality
- improves the circulation and nutrition of joints, increasing joint range of motion and flexibility
